Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi is a not-for-profit organisation working towards bridging the issues of community related to women, tribals, farmers and weaker sections through the community empowerment approach of “Let’s find our own way” for the past 35 Years. It strives to work constructively for ‘health revolution’ by addressing livelihood, water, Women Empowerment etc. comprising the wholeness of life. Through the Meri Mitti Challenge, it aims to tackle the problem of lack of accessibility to credible information among women through intervention and assistance.
Shubhada Deshmukh has been an activist in the health and civil rights movements in India. She co-founded Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi organisation in 1984, and has been its co-convener since then. She has also worked on policy issues with state and central governments in India for over 20 years. She has been honoured by Maharashtra Foundation award and more excellence service in empowering women in tribal areas. Presently, she is a member of the State Steering Committee of National Health Mission (2021-2024).
