Using AI and VR to improve access for the visually impaired
Established in 2019 by a team behind one of the most popular projects for the visually impaired, Eye-D (www.eye-d.in), LevelUP Foundation uses technology to uplift the disabled people at scale. Their smartphone app, designed to facilitate navigation and movement, incorporates Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, and Virtual reality. LevelUP Foundation helps make universities accessible, making higher education more inclusive, and subsequently opening doors of opportunity for the disabled.
Mrs. Subodh Mittal is the co-founder and COO of the LevelUP Foundation. After her post-graduation in Economics, she has spent over 15 years working actively to catalyze social change across education, healthcare and marginalisation of the disabled.
Gaurav Mittal spent 5 years building technology products at Citrix before founding LevelUp Foundation. He is a recipient of Digital Trailblazer Award’17, ICT Social Startup of the Year’18, and Code for the Next Billion’18 by Facebook and NASSCOM. Gaurav holds an engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (IIT, BHU).
